i wish i could put this much effort into my school work

hi its me william suitcase and today i wanted to talk about my (cringe) hfjone au, more specifically the more sciency parts of it

i dont think any of this will be anatomically accurate. do not use any of this for real science. i am a neurodivergent teenager with no knowledge of the real world.

what the au is about

basically liam and bryce are in an awesome futuristic world (this is canon divergent, ONE didnt happen here) and they both have very cool awesome cybernetic enhancements!!!!! woah!!!!!! and like the government is kinda using them as test subjects/trying to make them into war weapons or whatever and theyre trying to stop them from doing that or something

and they kiss. very important part of the au btw.

liam

i put a radio in his head and gave him antennae

okay, ive been struggling to write about this all day. we're starting with liam because ive been struggling to put him together in my head since starting this au. the line above this paragraph was about as far as i had gotten before even starting this blog post.
so heres what i have so far.

liam has a high power radio circuit implanted inside his brain, kind of like a cochlear implant. initially, the antenna for the radio was also internal, but after some trial and error, the people in charge of the experiment realized that it wasnt going to work. so, they placed the antennae on top of his head instead. liam has full control over both the antennae and the radio. he is able to listen to the radio as he pleases, both fm AND am, and change the stations on other radios as well.
he is also able to intercept and jam signals. unfortunately, since he does have a radio head (omg is that a radiohead reference), that radio in his head is also susceptible to being jammed.
he is ALSO able to mimic certain signals, like a key fob signal, or a remote garage door opener (what a lame example). this is a little overpowered if kept unchecked, so i made mimicry a very strenuous process for him to do. it takes a lot of brain power.

multiple things here are unrealistic (things i dont give a gaf about):

liams antennae are pretty short for how powerful the radio circuit is. the reason they are so short is because i want his design to be cohesive, and you cant have that with antennae that are like 20ft tall. im being so deadass at that height estimate btw
you cant actually mimic modern car key fobs because those generate unique codes every time the button is pressed. other fobs you can mimic though so like whatever..
he is able to run around san fransisco freely, only having to go to the bionic enhancement clinic (the BEC) once a week. the united states government would not allow this. he would be locked up in a lab somewhere and never see the sun again.
he is able to jam signals in general. this is a future au, things should be perfect and unjammable here.
the antennae are able to move. should not be happening. if your radio does this its probably broken

now THIS is what ive been looking forward to writing down. BRYCES cybernetic enhancement. which is his EYES.

bryce got a whole new set of eyes. hes able to dilate and shrink his pupils as he pleases, and see into the infrared range of the light spectrum. unfortunately, the people in charge of this experiment werent able to fix his nearsightedness, even with the eye replacement. they also changed his eye color to blue so he could take in more light.
him being able to dilate his pupils manually and see into the infrared range gives him full night vision, and even thermal imaging. the night vision is useful, but the thermal imaging is something he almost never uses, as there is no need for him to use it.
he also can shoot infrared lasers out of his eyes, via 2 very small IR emitters placed behind his eyes. idk i just thought it was cool theres no in universe reason for this. his pupils look like a dark red instead of black because of this.
he got a cool pair of visor glasses that supposedly adjust his eyes for him!!!! he never uses them outside of his apartment because he thinks they make him look stupid

even more things that i dont give a gaf about:

you cant place laser pointers behind the eye. that WILL blind you. you will never be able to see again.
currently, you cant do whole eye surgery either with the patient coming out the other side being able to see. you might be able to one day, though. this is a future au.
manually sizing your pupils constantly would ruin your depth perception. why cna he just do that flawlessly without the visor glasses.
none of this is even possible bro literally theres no way to do any of this

so yeah. this is the science behind my awesome hfjone au. hope you guys enjoyed. idk if ill write anything about the actual story here. bye.
